What is there to say about me?
In many ways, I have grown yet stayed the same. I still love history and international relations, but I am no longer so naive to want to "make a difference" by working for the State Department. Instead, I want to get into the fun and easy (note the sarcasm) career track of academia. That's right folks, I want to become a history professor. Diplomatic (transnational, US and the World, US in the World, whatever-the-latest-fad-happens-to-be) history, to be more specific. Not exactly surprising to those who know me.
Unfortunately, I am now entering limbo; I have completed my undergraduate career and am now working on grad school applications. But, I want to be a history professor so I need to have the fun PhD behind my name. Also, I like to learn. Why would I leave school when I can spend another six-to-eight years in a graduate program to join the ivory tower and never, ever have a real "honest" job? I am, in the words of one of the best teachers I ever had, "born to be a history major." I have accomplished that goal and plan to continue in the field.
Aside from my academic/professional goals, I like to think I am an interesting, outgoing, fun person. I like a great deal of things, including, but not limited to, history related topics. I have been told that I am a funny and rather unusual person. My sense of humor is a bit strange (mostly cynical and sarcastic but usually nonsensical I love British humor) and I become somewhat obsessive over topics, although I have to say that I *eventually* get over them... until they return a little while later. However, I love history and international relations more than nearly anything in the world. They are my true, great passions.
I am truly an 'acquired' taste.
